Chuir pátrún na scoile, An Foras Pátrúnachta in iúil dúinn inné gurb í Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada ceann de na scoileanna ina mbeidh iniúchadh sábháilteacht tine á dhéanamh go luath.
D’inis an Roinn Oideachais agus Scileanna don Foras Pátrunachta go mbeidh siad ag ceapadh saineolaí chun an 30 scoil a thóg Western Building Systems mar chuid dá clár Tógála Tapaidh ó 2008 a scrúdú.
Tá sé tábhachtach go dtuigeann an pobal scoile nach gcreideann an Roinn go bhfuil deacrachtaí le Sábháilteacht tine ‘sna scoileanna seo . B’fhearr leo áfach, go ndéanfar scrúdú ar ghach scoil chun cinntiú nach bhfuil fadhb, agus má aithnítear go bhfuil fadhb ar bith, é a aimsiú agus a réiteach chomh luath agus is féidir.

Our Patron body, An Foras Pátrúnachta, informed us yesterday evening that Gaelscoil Eiscir Riada is one of the schools to have a Fire Safety Audit soon.
The Department of Education and Skills informed An Foras Pátrúnachta that they will appoint an expert to check on all 30 Western Building Systems schools who were part of the "rapid build" programme since 2008.
It is very important to highlight that the Department does not believe there are fire safety issues with the 30 schools. The Department would rather that all schools are checked as a cautionary measure to ensure that there are no problems and, if any problems are identified, that they be resolved as soon as possible.

Seo an t-eolas a seoladh amach ag an scoil
Below is the information provided to the school:
Audit of all Schools built by Western Building Systems.
In view of the concerns raised by Fire Reports in relation to 5 schools constructed by Western Building Systems in 2008 arrangements are being made for an immediate precautionary audit of all schools constructed by that Company.
It is important to note that this is not a finding that the buildings are dangerous, it is a finding that the buildings do not comply with the detailed requirements of the Fire Safety Certificates.
It is also important to note that in the case of each of the schools, the Department has engaged fully with the Fire Officers of the relevant Local Authorities.
The Fire Officers broadly welcomed the Department’s proactive approach to dealing with the issues highlighted and have indicated their acceptance of the course of action being followed by the Department, including the identified remediation works and the fact that the schools continue to be occupied on a day-to-day basis.
The Department will, later this week, publish an invitation to tender on the Governments e-tenders web-site. The Department, in publishing this tender notice, wishes to commission a number of Fire Safety Audits of school buildings completed prior to the introduction of BC(A)R 2014. A small number of post 2014 buildings may also be included as a benchmark. The Department of Education and Skills (DoES) requires specialist independent advice from a fire engineering consultant to check that the school, as constructed, is in compliance with the granted Fire Safety Certificate and the Building Regulations. The competition is an Open Tender competition and all suitably qualified and experienced firms may submit a tender.
It is intended to carry out audits on 30 buildings in total which have been constructed since 2003. It is anticipated that this will take approximately 6 months to complete this number of audits. However, in each case, the Department will require an early report from the Fire Safety Consultants conducting the audit if any issue of significant concern is discovered.
